Devious intentions

A VOICE

Sources within MAS are saying that the current so-called turnaround management team of MAS had planned to throw in every cost under the previous management and intentionally make the 4th quarter shockingly bad.

That way they can place the blame on the already removed previous CEO.

It is heard that the unions met the Prime Minister few weeks back and told without reservation that if it will affect our jobs, they will campaign against the Barisan Nasional Government in the next general election.

Words within MAS are saying that Ahmad Jauhari (AJ) was called and told to stop the corroboration but Amokh defied the order at the insistence of Tony Fernandes.

AJ had also offered his resignation to the PM and that brought the anger of Chairman Tan Sri Mohd Nor Yusof.

EL-CHEAPO

VOICES AROUND

Since our leader is talking about liberalisation, why not liberalise our airlines industry as well? Let MAS (and AirAsia) becomes private business, NO LONGER involving tax-payers money! Gomen stay out of MAS, stay out of AirAsia! less tax-payer money goes to the drain! And allow SIA, ThaiAirways, Royal Brunei, KLM, Emirate, Ittihad etc operate our local routes, as well!!! Let RyanAir and EasyJet to come in too if they want to operate our KLIA-KBR route!

Has anyone heard of Jack The Ripper?

OUTSYED THE BOX

Air Asia International (AAX) is facing serious problems on some of its international routes. And so they are cutting "unprofitable" routes. The latest being AAX axing its Christchurch run. Please read here.

"In January, AAX said it would stop flying to London, Paris, New Delhi and Mumbai. It is learnt that AAX is moving away from long-haul to medium-haul flights."

The first question that pops up now is what is Air Asia going to do with all those hundreds of Airbuses they have just placed on order at the Paris Air Show in June last year? Just how many planes did they order? Well read here. Air Asia ordered 200 planes plus an option for 100 more. Cost : RM54 billion. Whoever the Airbus salesman, agent, middleman was, he, she, they or it made some huge commissions.

There must be something wrong here.

I met two officers from the tourism board and highlighted to them that MAS no longer fly to Karachi since January 2012. Every time I flew the KL-Karachi-KL route it has always been with MAS. Based on my memory, the flight is always full as the same flight also goes to Dubai. I wonder why MAS stops flying. According to MTB officers, MAS informed them that they do not make money on that route and Air Asia might take up that route soon.

Lets examine what their so-called “cost cutting” meant to all Malaysians

WEE CHOO KEONG

At a quick glance one could see from the above that AJ and Rashdan, the Tan Sri Azman Mokhtar’s crony, have been on a spending spree. They were not done in for the best interest of MAS. Most of the exercise done by Rahdan and AJ were mostly for cosmetic exercise and, most of all, to provide more opportunities for LEAKAGES in MAS. One need not be a genuis to come to the conclusion that the ultimate objective of the so-called COST CUTTING was to stifle the progress of MAS and without realising that it will bring MAS to its knees.

ROCKY'S BRU

Shadowee Transport Minister. If YB Wee Choo Keong had remained in Pakatan Rakyat and PR had been able to establish a Shadow Cabinet, the MP for Wangsa Maju would have been a natural choice for shadow Minister of Transport. Alas, Pakatan could not produce even a pale Shadow of a Cabinet and, fortunately, at least for some in the transport sector and for the politicians in BN, YB Wee is no longer with Pakatan Rakyat. Still, MAS and Air Asia cannot afford to shut him out any longer.

As always the 'con'-sultans will advise the GLCs to pump more taxpayers money into the business.

OUTSYED THE BOX

I also suspected that some "con"-sultan must have thought up this idea and sold it to the same GLC dunggus who got liwatted by the Arabs and Sri Lankans over the Medini fiasco. Ini mesti lagi satu round cerita "GLC bodoh" kena liwat oleh con-sultan.

MH will be just a “MARUAH HILANG or MUSNAH HARAPAN” company

WEE CHOO KEONG

Appointing people from ouside MAS is no good for continuity and also for the morale of the existing staff. No good because there is no incentive for them to work hard and loyal o MAS.  Perhaps AJ and Rashdan have other agendas under its New Business Plan that we do not know. From what we can see so far with regards to the said New Business Plan were cutting profitable routes, restricting Firefly to domestic routes within Peninsular Malaysia and appointing top management staff from AirAsia Bhd. The cutting of routes to Sabah and Sarawak have caused outcry from Sabahan and Sarawak government. This has prompted PM YAB Datuk Seri Najib to intervene. Perhaps these were all parts of the spirit of the secret MAS-AirAsia share swap and theComprehensive Collaborative Framework (CCF).

“MISLEADING ADVERTISEMENTS” by AirAsia

WEE CHOO KEONG

However, your truly has received an interesting comment from Sdr Charles F Moreira with regards to the issue of  “AirAsia’s  misleading pricing of its fares in its website” and it has been a point of contentions since January 2004.  In fact, there were many public complaints about AirAsia’s business model especially the way in which ancillary charges were structured in AirAsia’s website. Yours truly has posted the ancillary charges of AirAsia in HERE.

national duty to safeguard the interests of all Malaysians

WEE CHOO KEONG

It has been the business model of AirAsia for not disclosing the full air fare in its website.  There are many ancillary charges / hidden charges like BOOKING SERVICE FEES RM30, CONVENIENCE FEES per passenger per sector RM8, FUEL SURCHARGE RM90 & etc. Passengers are charged per minute for calling AirAsia to check on their booking or refund and etc. Please read yours truly’s previous posting in HERE.

AirAsia - Competitive my foot!

A VOICE

In actual fact, Air Asia is no more a cheap bargain and plus it's inconveneinces, it is a raw deal. In certain flights, the unstated surcharges can mean flying via Air Asia is no more as good a deal as real full service airline.

They could not even compete with MAS's new emerging budget airline, Firefly. To survive, Tony demand on MAS to close up Firefly.

It was a bit late for AJ

WEE CHOO KEONG

Coming back to the Oneworld membership, AJ suddenly woke up to realise the importance of Oneworld membership to MAS and he sent out a circular dated 16-1-2012 to inform MAS staff of the benefits of the Oneworld alliance. MAS staff already knew about the benefits of the membership into Oneworld as they have been properly briefed by the previous administration under YM Tengku Azmil where many man hours have been spent on it.

And along with it, MAS’ RM18 million which Danny had given away just to prop up Tony Fernandes’ pitiful football team.

JEBAT MUST DIE

Whatever MAS has done so far (cancelling routes, advertising with QPR – that’s all they did?),  do not require their shares to be swapped with Air Asia in the first place. One wonders why on earth did they do that? As the result, Danny Yusof is now in MAS and Tony Fernandes and Kamarudin Meranun are the directors of MAS!

People, passengers and voters are angry. My suggestion is for directors from AirAsia to resign from MAS’ board and replace MAS’ top leadership with people who are serious about MAS. People who has MAS’ interests solely in their hearts.

Aren't they really bodoh or fools?

A VOICE
The management have the power and is applying power but not to revive the already accepted and reknown service credible brand of MAS. But instead, the shareholder and management are blindly applying power only to force the wrongful measures that is widely viewed and agreed as cannibalisation of MAS in favour of Air Asia and to destroy MAS in the shortest of time.

Customers are at the mercy Air Asia.

JEBAT MUST DIE
(for Part 1, 2 & 3 - GO HERE)

Nazir Razak made to look like a buffoon by this AirAsia – MAS swap. By issuing statements when he is not even privy to the operational plans of both companies, he probably won’t deny that he has become a buffoon.
Hot air is everywhere even during this rainy season but the government is too lethargic to take action.

Did MAS under AJ and Rashdan follow the CREATIVE accounting standard that have been practiced by a famous AVIATION GURU?

WEE CHOO KEONG

In a short span of three months after AJ and En Mohamed Rashdan Yusof (Rashdan), the ex-business partner of Tan Sri Azman Mokhtar when they were both in BinaFikir Sdn Bhd, took over the management of MAS, they came out with a shocking revelation that Firefly lost RM89 million. This was contrary to what had been announced by the previous management of MAS. Yours truly wonders what accounting standard the new management of MAS has applied to come out with the figure of the RM89 million loss.

This is not the first time Khazanah making disastrous decisions.

JEBAT MUST DIE

Since he (Najib Razak) could be either impotent in dealing or maybe oblivious towards Azman Mokhtar’s many, many failures and shady deals, it is high time the Prime Minister takes a serious look into the affairs of his subordinates. Or at the very least, have the temerity to veer Khazanah Nasional into proper direction and whip it into shape.
Before this issue causes Barisan Nasional to lose more votes (who would want a government which do not punish non performance among its top brass and governmental institutions?), the office of the Prime Minister and the Minister of Finance must be seen as stringent in following its own tagline. Unless of course, the word ‘performance’ in “People First, Performance Now” connotes a different meaning altogether.
But they are not doing that. What they did was:
1) advertise in a small English Premier League club
3) letting many experienced staff go
4) allowing Tony Fernandes making a fool of MAS and Khazanah
5) abandon highly sought after routes
Whose fault is it?

“We only fly with MH”

BIG DOG

To the core group of MH loyalists, the swap was a betrayal of the worst kind. A sell-out to the very foe they have sacrificed everything to defeat. To many who have spent decades with the airline, it was the realisation of something unthinkable.

Needless to say, morale sank to an all time low. Unions met, tempers flared and options were discussed. And finally, after much painful deliberation and reflection, even the most ardent of MAS loyalists decided that for them, it was over.

And so they have opted to leave. Within the three weeks after the Fernandes-engineered lop-sided share swap was announced, THREE HUNDRED senior cabin crew members threw in the towel and left.

While BN shoots itself in the foot

JUST MY THOUGHTS

The secret  shareswap has not done much to turn MAS's fortune though, the stock is at a low RM1.34 now:
wish to hear Dr. Mahathir's view on MAS, Khazanah Corporate maneuvering and Tony F's war against the MAHB. These corporate maneuvering gives BN a very bad name. One should not wonder why the Pakatan politicians has kept mum on the MAS, Air Asia, Khazanah and MAHB issues, why should they make opposition noise....
