PURE SHIITE
Only in Malaysia....
- We have an Islamic Party that had to have a meeting to decide on its stand as per their constitution
- We also have a Finance Minister who advocated the Merger of 2 Airlines both owned by the Government after some shadowy announcement of share swaps a few days earlier...
- To top it all off....we have our very own loud mouth Ministerial thug who most of the time does not know what in the world he is talking about...
In Jala's own words to describe the situation...
MOST ROUTES ARE LOSING MONEY Our poor pricing, rising cost structure, mismatched fleet, weak operational performance, low-intensity performance culture, and social obligations all contribute to our dismal financial performance across most routes we fly. We estimate that about 60% of our routes are not profitable on a fully cost allocated basis (Exhibit I). While most airlines have a mix of profitable and developmental routes, MAS loses money on the bulk of its network. Most importantly, this means that we lack the core 'profit engine' that can help to fuel experimentation and expansion into new frontiers
That was 2006 situation........if you discount all the financial
engineering activities to improve the cashflow and balance sheet.....how
will MAS make money as an Airline is still unknown..and now with the
"Comprehensive Collaboration" between MAS and Air Asia monkey wonders
further....
